Indonesia Trade Assistance Project(ITAP): Legal Seminar-Legal Aspect of WTO Agreements
USAID, Indonesia has an established history of providing trade capacity support to the Government Indonesia, begining with the Trade Implementation and Policy(TIPs) project in 1993, followed by the Partnership for Economic Growth(PEG) project, and support provided through the Growth Trough Investment and Trade(GIAT) project. The importance of trade capacity development has been well articulated by Trade Minister Mari Pangestu. The purpose of the Indosneia Trade Assistence Project(ITAP) is to assist the Ministry of Trade in developing its organizational capacity and effectiveness in addrssing both domestic and international trade matters. The Indonesia Trade Assistance Project(ITAP) is designed to build and enhance the Ministry of Trade's(MOT) institutional capacity to plan, analyze, implement and manage a broad agenda of domestic and international trade programs and reforms that are intended to expand the country's exports, improve the investment climate, and create new amployment opportunities. ITAp is focused on training institutional strngthening and capacity building in trade law, economic analysis, and human resource management; enhancing and improving the MOT's information technology infrastructure; enhancing inter-agency coordination on trade-related matters; and strengthening public-private dialogue on trade.
