Inthe last century, major developments in economic agreements between states and greater legal certainty regarding private transactions have contributed to increased international trade. Both states (trough international conferences and organizations) and businesses in association with non-gevernmentalorganization have contributed to these improvements. The aproach taken by these bodies leads to the negociation and adoption of many legal texs-taking the from of international treaties, model laws, and private norms-which apply internationally to private transactions. These results have resulted in a globalization of the sources of international trade law. Since the publication of the first edition of this book in 1992, many international legal texts have been adopted or modified. This led to the need to update the first edition in order to reflect the latest developments in international trade law.
