Indonesia, the magnificent beauty of the equator, is the world's largest archipelago and has the world's longest landmass consisting of more than 17.000 Islands. Surrounded by volcanoes, productive lands, rich natural resources, exotic flora and fauna, the country has an infinite diversity of wealth with a population of around 220 million people and more than 300 ethnic groups. Each of these ethnic groups has their own unique language and culture. The foreign traders built sutainable relationship with the locals and introduced them to their culture and religion enriching their knowledge about the world. In response, the locals welcomed the new culture and religion and making them uniquely theirs. This unique acculturation is evident in many of the country's cultural heritage such as in its wide range of magnificent hand-made textiles, jewllery, pottery, wayang or puppetry and keris.
